Mr Steamy Laundry Ball Legit or Scam? Any Honest Mister Steamy Reviews?

It’s obvious that I’m a big fan of using steam to clean so when I came across the Mister Steamy dryer ball I was intrigued to say the least. The product is about the size of a tennis ball and made of a flexible rubber material. You fill the the ball with water and drop Mr Steamy into the dryer and that’s it. The commercial advertises that the device will un-wrinkle cloths, leave sheets motel flat and works with all sorts of fabrics. Also included in the order is a solution that is supposed to help remove orders and make your laundry smell fresh.

Before I dropped the $19.95 on the product I wanted to see if anyone else had bought Mister Steamy and what kind of results they had achieved. After some searching I was not able to find anything useful. One forum mentioned that you were better off using tennis balls and a wet rag. One person replied that they are often exposed to smoke at work and that Mr. Steamy did an amazing job of removing the smell, so much so that they did not have to wash the cloths as often which in turn saved them money.

Right now they are running a special on Mister Steamy special Buy one get one free from the official website. Since I never seem to be able to find the time to iron my cloths and I also have a tendency leave cloths in the dryer days at a time I think I’ll go ahead and test out this product. I’m going to order Mister Steamy today and follow up on my own Mister Steamy Review.

Stay posted for my review of the Mister Steamy Laundry Ball. If any of you out there have purchased the product please leave your feedback in the comments section. Thanks! See ya soon!

Looking forward to what you think about Mr. Steamy - it sure sounds tempting.

Yes - I've been waiting for some reviews before deciding whether I want to purchase (and I wish I could find it somewhere other than the "official" website, which are always rip-offs...) Can't wait to hear your opinion!!

Anonymous said...

Very curious about this product.

Anonymous said...

Anxious to hear anyone who has used the Mister Steamy??? Does it really help remove the wrinkles-- or is it too good to be true!! Feedback anyone????

Anonymous said...

Does this really work. WHY do they charge TWO shipping and handling charges. This seems like a real rip off?

Anonymous said...

Shipping and handling charges have been the bread and butter of all As seen on TV products since the beginning of the this industry. The key is to be aware of them and not let the fees sneak up on you.

Anonymous said...

I too am interested in hearing if this is for real or just another info-mercial scam. If it is accurately decribed and works; I will try it!

I just cancelled my Mister Steamy order. The website to order on is very sketchy ... It went through twice, I never got any actual order number (just an email) and after 4 weeks, I still had no product. I also didn't realize they charge double shipping for the "buy one get one free offer." It's a total scam - you don't even have a choice of just buying one. The shipping ends up being almost the same price as the product itself - almost $34 total.

Anonymous said...

I too am anxious to hear about your results on Mr. steamy. I would like to purchase one myself but, the shipping and handling fees are still to expensive. Can't wait to hear your results. Hope it works because i'am one of those who hate ironing.

Anonymous said...

I have been using Mister Steamy for about a month. I like the way it makes my cloths smell, and yes...a slight decrease in wrinkles. BUT...now I have used up my "fresh shot" bottles and it looks like I might need to buy the whole kit...balls and all...if I want more fresh shot agent to add to the balls. This is a problem. Better make sure you can find FRESH SHOT without buying the balls again. i can't...but continue looking.

Anonymous said...

To the person who posted above me . . . wonder if plain old fabric softener would work? That's what I assumed Fresh Shot was anyway since it supposedly makes clothes smell good and softens. Just a thought.

Anonymous said...

Couldn't you just buy a plastic ball, poke tiny holes in it with a larger one to fill which you plug with a stopper (cork, golf tee, etc.) and throw in dryer to get same effect?

Anonymous said...

Just saw the commerical & I too am looking forward for reviews on this product. Found this site when google searching. Haven't found much of anything yet.

Anonymous said...

I forgot to mention. To those who want to buy it you should check with your "As Seen On Tv" store that are usually in the mall & see if they have this. Saves on the shipping & you can even return it if you don't like it. Just a thought.

Anonymous said...

no, you can't just use a regular ball, poke holes into it and add water... you need to use the "fresh shot" liquid that comes with it b/c... steam is only produced when water comes to a boil (212 degrees F), the temperature inside a dryer does not reach this high. the steam is produced from the fresh shot, a technology that was developed by the mister steamy makers. so you have to continually buy the fresh shot once you run out.

Cari said...

If steam is created at 200 degrees and the average home dryer doesn't get hotter than 150 degrees, steam CANNOT be created. Otherwise, steam would come off of our clothes when we take them out of the dryer and they're still wet.

Logically, this product cannot work like it says it does.

Anonymous said...

I am wondering if Mr. Steamy works well on dress shirts. I am skeptical, since someone here has mentioned a SLIGHT decrease in wrinkles.

I also want one unit and not have to pay S/H for two :)

Looking forward to the review.

Anonymous said...

I just received these yesterday. I've done two loads of sheets with them and don't find they make a lick of difference to the wrinkling. They MAY work for dry clothes that need freshening or for things that are wrinkled but for damp wash I think you should save your money.

Anonymous said...

When I want to de-wrinkle clothes I generally toss them in the dryer with a damp cloth to increase the humidity. It isn't really "steam" but the increased humidity helps smooth wrinkles, so I often don't have to iron as much, or at all. That being the case, I ordered Mr. Steamy on 1/5/09 as of today, 1/18 my order status was listed as "Soft" with a shipping status of "Steamy" so I am pretty sure it is a complete ripoff.

Cari said...

the biggest concern I have is the Fresh Shot. What exactly is it that is being vaporized into our clothing?

Anonymous said...

I just got mine. It works ok for dewrinkling dry clothes but you must use high heat setting. It did plump up my wet clothes and made them smell nice but it probably took longer to dry the load. Because my dryer is electric and my electric rates are so high, I'm concerned about using 15-20 minutes just to dewrinkle clothes versus using an iron or steamer.

Anonymous said...

im not going to buy it. but thanks for the damp cloth tip.

Anonymous said...

I just got my order today. The tiny bottles of liquid you get with the order will last about 1 month, if that. I would think you could use a product like Fabreze when you run out of fresh shot. I hope it actually keeps clothing from getting too wrinkled because I HATE to iron!

Anonymous said...

For wrinkles, I just using a spray bottle and spray my clothes with a fine mist and then toss them in the dryer.

Anonymous said...

In stores soon so wait till then, that is what i always do for these products!

Anonymous said...

Just received Mr Steamy last week..been using it, as far as dewrinkling dress shirts..forget it. But it does get wrinkles out of everyday clothes..but so does a moist towel...The fresh shot is ok too..but so is a dryer sheet...so really im unimpressed..but I have it so I will use it..

Anonymous said...

Any more luck with this product?

Anonymous said...

Just use downy wrinkle release it works great.

Anonymous said...

I use Downy Wrinkle Release and a 10 minute freshen-up on my dryer setting. Works like a charm.

If I was going to try this, I'll wait until it's at somewhere like Bed Bath & Beyond. Atleast I can return it without any hassles if it doesn't work.

Anonymous said...

I was going to order this product but after reading all of this I will not bother. Thanks to all of you for your input - it was a great help and I don't have to waste my money.

Anonymous said...

I, too was about to order this product, but I decided not to after reading results from actual users. If more people choose not to order and post the reasons, perhaps the seller will decide to stop imposing a double shipping and handling charge and make the fresh shot more easily available.

Anonymous said...

I ordered this like a month ago and havent received the product yet. I tried to call the customer service line but you stay on hold for hours listening to "gone with the wind" type music. Don't buy this product!!!!!

mickey said...

i'm just curious, your cloths are already wet when putting them into the dryer what and when do you put a damp cloth into the dryer to have more humity? to me, you have all the steam you need with your already wet laundry.

Anonymous said...

If your going to waste your money on this bogus crap, why don't you just send the money to me ~ ps~ the dbl order has a dbl s/h charge.. About $34.00... Oh yeah, you don't have a choice of one or two...

Anonymous said...

I think the damp cloth was for fluffing/smoothing dry clothes... I've done that for years.

Anonymous said...

just reading these comments.... thank you everyone, no way will spend a dime on something like this...

Anonymous said...

Just got my Mr. Steamy and used it on my sheets. There was absolutely NO difference in the wrinkles of the sheets! I think you have to use it with dry clothes to take out wrinkles, but that requires more dryer time. Not worth it to me.

Anonymous said...

Thank you, thank you everyone for the reviews and comments. I too was going to order. I will continue to use my spray bottle on dry clothes and refresh. Also, is there a lot of noise with it tumbling around against the dryer drum, dont think I could handle that since my business office at one end of my laundry room.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Steamy? How can there be steam created in your clothes dryer? Think about the science. Water boils and turns to steam at 212 degrees. Does your dryer get that hot?

Anonymous said...

i purchased Mr steamy by one get one free i was very dissapointed in its performance it did not remove the wrinkles much. i tried with dry wrinkled clothes and wet. Also the shipping charges of 34.00 was outrages and it didn't appear on the total until you placed your order and it was too late.

Anonymous said...

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR FEEDBACK; YOU SAVED ME A HEADACHE AND PUT MORE $ IN MY POCKET!

Anonymous said...

The steam argument floors me. How many of you take a shower in 212 degree water??? OMG. This is priceless. Steam forms when cold meets hot. Basic science people.

And no on the dryer ball. Use a damp washcloth and save yourselves $34.

Anonymous said...

yes but....when was the last time you pulled a steaming wet towel out of the dryer. You may not need 212 degrees, but the dryer does not get hot enough to create intense steam.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the heads-up people...=)

It took nearly 8 weeks to get my Mister Steamy, they didn't charge my card for over a month, but now that I have it I gotta say I really like it a lot. I agree it can't make steam. Dryers just don't get that hot, but it does add a lot of moisture. I travel so I have been dumping my clothes out of my suitcase straight into the dryer. I fill Mister Steamy with 8oz of water then I add the Fresh Shots. I swear my clothes come out smelling very clean and much less wrinkled. I think it could be useful if you forget your clothes in the dryer and don't take them out right away.

I think Mister Steamy is great. It bangs into my dry clothes and releases moisture. The big drawback is the lack of Fresh Shots. This stuff takes all the smell away. Amazing! I think buying two balls is too expensive but this ball works in my opinion.

Anonymous said...

I love Mister Steamy! I have cut down my full blown washing by 50% and just freshen my clothes up. I'm just about out of Fresh Shots which will make Mister Steamy only good for removing wrinkles and not freshening up your stinky clothes. The wet wash cloth does NOT work as well as MS. The cloth gets stuck to clothes. I recommend buying it.

I ordered product then saw shipping charges and was outraged. Tried calling cust svce but it was after hours. I will try to cancel tomorrow but if this is too difficult I will cancel order on paypal since I used their debit card. It is a ripoff

Anonymous said...

If you are dumb enough to believe that your dryer gets hot enough to create steam in that ball, them you deserve to get screwed out of your money, do you really believe that the clothes they show coming out of the dryer are that wrinkle free using that ball. DUH

Anonymous said...

These people are the scum of the earth…they send you 2 units (without authorization) and with 2 S&H charges – $13.98…when you ask them to cancel the order that they charged $33.97 (by the way only the email works – they don’t answer their phones); they want you to ship the products back to them at your expense and refund back only the amount for 1 unit – $19.99…another words, if everyone were to cancel, they still make money by keeping the 2 S&H charges i.e., $13.98…what a scam.

Anonymous said...

People talk about it adding moisture arent cloths wet when you get them out of the washer? Wet cloths = steam if a dryer could get that hot!!! Grow a brain people!!!Dont buy stuff like this you know it is BS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Thank Goodness for Forums like these-saves all of us a lot of time and money. I will NOT be purchasing this product!

Unknown said...

Downy wrinkle release is the best stuff around. Plus you can spray it on a dress, etc. that is hanging ona hanger and the wrinkles come out in a minute. Then just a few minutes to dry. Spray some on the clothes going into the dryer and they will come out with wrinkles.

Unknown said...

If yu do't like to iron, hang your clothes. I take mine from the washer, snap them (shake really hard), place on hanger or line, pull wrinkles out and let dry.

For more stubborn wrinkles or odor removal, I have a spray bottle set to mist with water and my fav fabric softner mixed in it. Spray the clothes and toss in the dryer for 5-10 minutes.

Hang them in the bathroom while you are showering or bathing.

Anonymous said...

I purchased Mr Steamy and the 1st and only time I used it was on black and dark clothing from the washer, about 50% of all the darks came out spotted and faded lookig. I am afraid to use it again.

Thanks for the comments, you saved me money and time!

Also, beware, companies do search the internet for reviews, and they do post good reviews of their products online...sometimes you wouldn't know it, the reviewers use colloquial expressions, poor grammar, etc.

But if you are still interested, do check out your "As Seen on TV Store," usually in a mall.

Anonymous said...

i d oplan on buying this product but strictly just for dry clothes that i have neglected to take out of the dryer. doing a "touch up" cycle works to dewrinkle them, but those darn dress shirts and flannels are pesty.
as an above poster wrote, the downy wrinkle release does work AMAZING! i use it alot, espec after you make your bed, and your duvet or comforter looks a little wrinkled. spray some of that on, and smooth it out. works like a charm!!!

Adding steam to a process that is bascially designed to remove water via heating (i.e. a dryer) is a "contradiction in terms."

Thank you all so much. I won't buy but I will remember your various tips. I had forgotten that I usec to use Downey Wrinkly Release--doesn't meke clothes look iron but does help enough. I always read reviews before buying--can save a lot of money. I was about to call that company that installs carpet the next day. I was ready to buy but went online for their phone numbers. I saw reviews posted--my first time using them. I did not buy!! If you want to see outrageous, google them and reviews. Thanks again.

Anonymous said...

i too was ready to buy this product. thank you all for your input. i will stick with the damp towel to dewrinkle, or continue with the iron. i guess sometimes the old fashion way is still the best way!

Well after reading all this I am totally convinced that I DO NOT need this product and its lovely shipping charges. I have to give it to the advertisers they are very good at slight of hand. I'll hang on to my money thank you very much.

Anonymous said...

Since the boiling point of water is approximately 210 degrees, wouldn't the inside of the drier have to be this temperature also?
Do the inside of clothes driers get this hot? Also, if this device does work as advertised, how much will it cost in electricity/gas just to get a few items wrinkle free?

Anonymous said...

Mister Steamy does not work plain and simple. Does anyone have a contact number so I can return mine ??? Also the shipping and handling for the second set is a rip off !!!

Anonymous said...

I thought I would like it for de-wrinkling clothes left in the dryer. Didn't work as well as I'd hoped - or as the wet cloth I'd been tossing in during the dewrinkle cycle. Prefer to hang up while still warm from dryer, use Downy wrinkle release (or febreeze, or warm water in a spray bottle) for sprucing up wrinkles in casual wear. I have to use liquid starch for impressive stuff, and can't get away from the iron for that. Laundry and dishes...never end.

Anonymous said...

Simplify, simplify, simplify! What is so tough and time consuming about using a flat iron filled with hot coals? While your at it,grow your own food.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for all the comments. I was looking for a retail site when I came across this site. Back to the old iron!

Anonymous said...

I own a motel and do all our sheets on site. They look a bit wrinkled if I don't get them out of the dryer promptly so I was very intrigued with the TV ad. But, thanks to everyone who posted comments I'll save my money and pay more attention to dryer times. Five minutes on cool down helps. Then I take them out while they still have some moisture and fold them. Not perfect but adequate.

Anonymous said...

A big waste of money...drat! Got mine today and it did NOT get out the wrinkles. Tried both dry and with a wet load. Back to the iron....sigh

Anonymous said...

I am so glad I checked this! I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and they have balls for the dryer, but they do not fill with water. Deciding they were really just glorified tennis balls, I didn't get them. A damp rag and a tennis ball works fine. For those of you who mentioned comforters or heavier things, I put a tennis shoe (or heavy shoe) inside a plastic bag, tie it and throw it in with the comforter. It really fluffs up the feathers. The tennis ball is too small for this job! Thanks to everyone for the input and the money I saved!

homemade Downy wrinkle release: a clean spray bottle, distilled water and a few slightly used dryer sheets. Put water and sheets in the spray bottle, shake it and spray! I use regular tap water and fill the bottle half way. The tap water can get a little stale smelling if you make up a whole bottle and don't use it in a month or so, less in the summer. Works almost as good and a LOT CHEAPER!

Alright here is the deal.

Alot of others here have touched on main points but here is everything wrapped up in one post.

Your Dryer does not get hot enough to produce "Steam" all this does is add humidity to decrease wrinkles. If your drying clothes from the washer then (You Absolutely Do NOT Need this) and it will make no difference more than a regular dryer ball (without water in it) will. I can see a difference when I have clothes that have dried and allowed to sit in the dryer for long enough to wrinkle. The best way to do your laundry is as one poster mentioned, Dry your clothes till "Almost Dry" and then Hang Up Immediately. They will dry completely while hanging and be as wrinkle free as you can expect. But you can use this Mr. Steamy with Already Dried Clothes that are wrinkled and it will make about as much difference as throwing in a Damp Washcloth with them. Don't expect Steam, Again, it ONLY adds Humidity.

Also, the Fresh Shot is not anything special that Makes the water STEAM Up at a lower temp as someone here mentioned. It is also not Fabric Softener as others have mentioned. It is Nothing More than generic FEBREZE. Using Febreze in the Mr. Steamy will certainly eliminate Smoke & Odors in your clothes if you want to Freshen them up a bit and again (NOT STEAM), BUT the Added Humidity helps freshen up the clothes and eliminate wrinkles. Something that should be noted - A wet wash cloth will do just as well.

On products like this, the best thing to do is to NOT get wrapped up in all the Wondrous Claims they make about the product and simply RELY on your Own Intelligence and Common Sense. Your Common Sense will get you a long ways when evaluating products such as this because you Yourself, know very well that your dryer does not get hot enough to Boil Water and Create Steam. You should also know that there is no Replacement for Hanging Up or Folding your Clothes immediately upon the Drying Cycle Finishing.

Thanks so much,

For wrinkles I just use a spritzer bottle. Spritz the inside of the dryer and/or the wrinkled clothes and run the dryer. You can add softner to the water if you want the extra scent. Also, if you do not overload the dryer you won't have as much of a wrinkle problem.

Anonymous said...

I have a a way wrinkles always come out that is very economical;
Fill a regular spray bottle with purified water and add one or two DROPS of clorox (so it won't stagnate).Add one tablespoon of fabric softener such as Downy, and you can also add a drop or two of your favorite perfume or cologne.Shake well before each use and spray all over clothing to get wrinkles out.For even better results throw in the dryer for 5 min or smoothe with your hand as it hangs on hanger.Only thing I've used for years and works GREAT!

Anonymous said...

How long does it take to receive them once you place an order??

Anonymous said...

I ordered this as I cannot iron any longer due to a medical condition. These comments are interesting, but I do want to try myself. I agree that the shipping charges are very high and they shouldn't charge s/h on the second "free" item. I ordered my set and received a confirmation with my order #. I called today just to check on it and I had a real person on the phone in less than 5 minutes. They have my order and are shipping it today. I want to use this on used clothing I plan on selling so I don't have to send it out for pressing. The clothes are clean, just wrinkled from being stored. I'll post again after I use the item. Their phone # for person looking for it is 203-306-5770. As I said I have a person on the phone in less than 5 minutes.

For all of you folks that swear by Downey wrinkle releaser, at about 6 bucks a bottle, try Dollar General's own brand for 1.50 and see that it not only works much better it is so cheap~! Just save me some and don't buy it all up at once!!! Also, spray wrinkled clothes and throw in dryer and they come out great!

Will not buy dryer balls after reading the comments posted here.

Mr steamys doesnt actually release steam…dryers would have to get to 212 degrees (the boiling point of water) to make steam and no dryer gets that hot! Mr Steamys purpose is only to release small amounts of water (humidity) to dry clothes to help remove wrinkles. Honestly you can achieve the same thing by adding a wet washcloth to a load of dry clothes for about ten minutes at the dryers highest temperature. Think about it…Mr Steamy is only a rubber ball with water in it…the rubber ball doesnt actually do anything..its the water in it. Just add the water to a washcloth and achieve the exact same results! I been doing it for 30 years and dont need to waste money on a stupid Mr Steamy! lol. Or better yet...take your clothes out of the dryer and fold or hang them while they are still hot and they will not have wrinkles..the wrinkles dont set in untill they start to cool!

Anonymous said...

Thanks you guys for all your input. I was considering trying this thing, but I had my concerns. Now those are validated and I am not going to waste my money.

I think its a great gag gift for my brother's 50th birthday. I'm too cheap to order the required 2 balls though since my brother never really does the laundry anyway. What do you think, should I order it anyway?

Anonymous said...

If I need to minimize wrinkles I throw in a damp hand towel with the item and then dry. Works well for me without the cost of the balls and solution or the frustration of finding more solution.

is fabric softener liquid flammable if you put it in the dryer..Lol...Dont burn your house down

This produce does not work!! At first I thought maybe I just had too many clothes in the dryer, but I tried it with one shirt as the commercial shows and the shirt came out wrinkled. I bought it and paid a ridiculous $13 for shipping of two steamers just to find myself shipping it back and paying additional money for shipping back. What a waste of hard-earned money.

Anonymous said...

I bought the product. I got two for one. I gave one to my son and kept the other. After using it, I started noticing white foam with every dry. It turned out that the foam in the middle of the ball, kept tearing up leaving pieces in my dryer. Sometimes, I would see a difference and other times, my clothes were very wrinkle. I tried getting a hold of these people, to no avail. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT DOES NOT WORK.

Anonymous said...

RIGHT OFF: to the DUH people who say that there is no steam...DUH to you. Try taking out a HOT but not DRY towel...burns your hand!! It does not HAVE to be "OUT OF A TEA KETTLE STEAM HOT!

I LOVED this column and I learned SEVERAL things. 1. Next time I see something like this on TV I might like, I will check for a column like this, then order or not (I WOULD have ordered this,) 2. I learned about using the Downey or Febreze product. 3. Last time I ordered somethink, I learned about looking for "coupons"! 4. I have used a damp wash cloth for 50 years...this IS an improvement on that, as IT doesn't ALWAYS work! 5. I travel for work too; now I'll dump the suitcase into the dryer instead of the washer!! THANKS!!

Mo Bradley Consumer Advocate said...

No do NOT order MR Steamy, it does not work as described on TV.The catch is you have to tumble dry DRY clothes which will cost time and money, secondly no steam is produced because your dryer does not reach a high enough temperature to create steam. No steam- no Mr Steamy.
Here is a better FREE tip. After your clothes are dry and preferably still warm, spray them with a solution of fabric softener and water. 1 Cap full to a gallon of water makes a good de-wrinkle solution. You may need to smooth some garments with your hand to get the wrinkles out but with time you can become a pro.Easy and free.

I have found too many negative reviews to order this product; however, I HAVE tried the 'green laundry ball' which says you can wash up to 1000 loads of clothes with no laundry detergent. AND THIS DOES WORK!! Just google green laundry ball or go to www.heartlandamerica.com and put it in their search engine. GREAT PRODUCT!!

I think you're better off buying a bottle of Febreze, spraying your clothes and tossing them in the dryer. But, if you are really interested in trying it out, check out Amazon.com...they have serveral different versions and without the ridiculous shipping charges.

Most valuable comment was the one about using generic wrinkle release from Dollar General. Thanks for all the valuable information and for preventing me from buying something that does not work!

John said...

The boiling point of water is 100 °C (212 °F) at standard pressure. Therefore your dryer has to be at the hottest setting in order to create steam and it's got to be on for a long time.

Additionally when you put your clothes in the dryer, they are already wet, so this is just adding steam to moisture. That is probably why people have achieved minimal results with this product.

You are better off using a product such as Bounce dryer sheets to freshen up the smell of your clothes.

Nothing new under the sun.

Thank you so much everyone for the comments. I was very intrigued by the thought of not having to iron and this "sounded" like a terrific opportunity. Usually when something sounds too good to be true, it is :P I will stick to fabric softener and dryer sheets to get as wriunkle free as I can. I will also go with the damp cloth method to dewrinkle dry clothes. :*( I WAS hoping this would be my ticket to wrinkle freedom!!! but I was let down, lol.

Thanks for all the great insight. I was actually thinking about purchasing this product. Now I will not even bother. I should have known that no product would make life that easy. I will check more sites like these in the future before wasting money on useless products.

I ordered one set of two out of a Miles Kimball or similar book, and had only 2.98 handling charge. Shipping was free on any order. I used the item and found that it worked about 75% of advertised which I guess is mostly due to the ball inself "fuffing" the clothes. I don't order on line for fear of losing my card # and of course any trouble with the item and finding it hard to get a refund. Just start getting those little catalogues and wait until "as seen on tv" items show up. I used it on dry sheets and a few dry shirts that could use the touch of an iron. I really was not dissapointed as I don't believe everything I see advertised in the first place. It does make noise, tho.

Anonymous said...

What is the method of cancelling the order. I agree that the shipping(ripping) charges are a scam.

doesn't make sense to put water on clothes that are to be drying. these people only need 10000 gullable people to make a mistake and buy this product and they have already made millions without breaking a sweat

I was given my Mr Steamy by my grandmother-
who did not give me the directions.
I was very pleased with the results and since my laundry room is in the back of my house, did not hear the noise everyone complains about.
What did happen, though, was the ball cracked from the opening down and I am wondering why it did. Did it get too dry at some point?

Just wondering if anyone knows why my Mr. Steamy cracked.

I think the product is decent and more or less works as it says it will though not all wrinkles are gone, nor are my sheets motel pressed. But the ordering process is a SCAM! Forced to buy two and have to pay double the shipping and handling. Plus it didn't respond the first time I pressed the BUY link so it went through twice and I ended up with a $68 purchase. I called and spoke to them and even though I emailed them within five minutes to stop the order, they mailed two orders to me anyway, saying they hadn't read my email yet before they sent it. I threatened them with contacting my state attorney gen. office and they refunded me the second order. I still am supposed to mail them the product back even though I never wanted the second order in the first place.

I use the Dollar General brand wrinkle release too - been using it for years. Downy is too expensive on my little bitty budget lol - but I always used the DG spray before I ironed an article of clothing - like one would use spray starch. Next load of clothes is getting sprayed near the end of the dryer cycle, then hung up immediately. I have several dress shirts I love but they wrinkle so badly they must be ironed before wearing. Hope this will at the least make them easier to iron, & at the most (best case scenario) soft & wrinkle-free enough not to need ironing. I can't stand up long enough to iron as I have some paralysis of my legs, so oh boy am I grateful for all the tips! Who needs Mr. Steamy when we have all of you smart people!

ACGrout said...

What is wrong with an iron? Only takes 5 mins! Are we that lazy? What is wrong with us? Of course, unless I'm going to work or somewhere special, I just wear wrinkled clothes :)

You can get the mister steamy in a as seen on tv store for only $19.99 2 in the box, this is canada. look for them, you might be surprised. But i have also heard that you put it in at full heat and only add 4oz. of water not 8oz.

The foam in Mr Steamy fell apart in 4 drying left a stain on my sons blue jeans. Does anyone know how to replace the foam. Would getting a foam ball from a craft store work & Im thinking of going to dollar general, and spray or add the required amount of liquid to the Mr streamy ball?

I am always amazed at what scams end up on the tv ads. Tips to less wrinkles? Don't overload your dryer. If you forgot to take things out, just turn the dryer on medium for 15 minutes. Bad wrinkles? Add a wet facecloth for the 15 minutes. If you already have dryer alls, just toss them in also, since they do the "Fluffing" without added steam. (You don't need more steam if your drying wt clothes to begin with!

I was just about to hop in my car to go buy a Mr. Steamy, but I've learned when I have an irresistible urge to buy something, I need to check it out on line instead. Fortunately your column came up first. I will try the solution of fabric softener and water to spray on the clothes and then dry them in the dryer. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Wrinkle secret?? For over 20 years I used Kenmore dryer which has an option of wrinkle free drying. How it works? In the final phase of drying it uses a cool air - without heat. Clothes are coming out great, without wrinkles. Ted

Anonymous said...

Sounds like another big ripoff to me. I always use a dryer sheet for a wet dryer load. If I can't deal with it when the dryer is done, I toss in a damp washcloth later for a few minutes to de-wrinkle. As far as the fresh shot goes, I prefer my clothes clean, not perfumed to cover odors. Ick!

Anonymous said...

I read most of the 100 comments and thank you all for both the heads up on the products' uselelssness, and the great tips for substitutes.

Here's my comment: I investigated commercial dryer sheets for softening and perfuming. WARNING: All dryer sheets contain a long list of toxic chemicals. These chemicals are not required by law to list on the labels. Downy has a whole site devoted to its safety. What do you think? Would they tell you what their chemicals are?

I have friend who is very allergic to these perfumned dryer sheets and when other renters where I live use them, I cough, sneeze and blow my nose.

Unfortunately, I have some linen clothing that comes out of the dryer with terrible wrinkles. I have no ironing board because of medical reasons but I will probably have to continue ironing these items on top of my dryer, anyway. I am going to get together an uncolored clean tennis ball, a small towel, and a water spray bottle and see if that helps.

The secret to avoiding wrinkles in clothes is to REMOVE IMMEDIATELY from the dryer once it finishes. It reduces wrinkles up to 75%.

Anonymous said...

I was gifted one of these. I got the same results from simply spraying some water on my dry wrinkled clothes and tossing them in the dryer for ten minutes. Also, it's true. The dryer doesn't get hot enough to make steam, and the "fresh shot" does not change the chemical composition of the water to produce a higher boiling point. It works the exact same way as dampening your clothes and then drying them.

Anonymous said...

Steam is created when water turns to a gas...boiling...212F. Now there is CONDENSATION that forms water vapor(like the stuff we call "steam" that is in a hot shower, but it isn't really steam.) You can't see steam...it is like the little empty part between the tea kettle before the white cloud of water vapor that condenses from the cooler water in the air (like the dew point) and the hot steam. Just like you can see little clouds about puddles when they vaporize into the cooler air after a rain or fog on a cool night after a warm day. The air isn't 212 degrees to "steam" away any water.

I suppose the water vapor emitted by a damp item (like the Mr. Steamy) could relax some wrinkles from a hot dry fabric, but it seems that you don't necessarily need this product to produce it. A damp cloth would produce the same water vapor (you could even spray the cloth with Febreeze if you want the "freshness".) And you probably should manually smooth them out when they are still slightly damp and hot from the dryer treatment for the most reduction of wrinkles.

Anonymous said...

If you pay real close attention to the commercial. At the end of it they pull a dress shirt out of the dryer and you can tell it has press marks on it. Or it looks like it came out of a package. You can see creases in it where it has been folded or something clearly on the slleves for sure. What a joke!

Anonymous said...

I'm glad that someone has finally cleared up the steam vs water vapor issue. Although technically speaking this company is lying when it claims to use "steam" to release wrinkles, I think that anyone who has ever used a dryer knows that high humidity (water vapor) does help to decrease wrinkles. The damp cloth idea is a good one for dry wrinkled clothes. If anyone is still looking to try Mr. Steamy, I did see it today at the Walmart in Walpole MA. It was $14.88 for 2 balls but did not include the Fresh Shot.

I was intrigued to know more about Fresh Shot because I'm allergic to mildew and lots of my clothes will have a faint odor of mildew even though they are clean because I live in a humid climate. Any thoughts from anyone about killing mildew on otherwise clean clothes?

I also wanted to confirm an earlier comment about the Kenmore dryer's wrinkle-free setting. It really seems to work well. I've had this dryer for 2 yrs and almost never iron anything as long as I take the clothes out of the dryer when the they're still warm.

Anonymous said...

I couldn't wait to buy Mr Steamy, thinking it would take the wrinkles out of my cotton shirts, so I wouldn't have to iron. Well, I bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond. I used it and couldn't tell any difference in the wrinkles in the clothes. UGH. So, I wasted $14.95. And also when you put that plastic ball in the dryer it is bouncing around and very noisy. I would rather just get the iron out.

FORGET THE BALL! Just take a small Wash Cloth

I am really glad that I decided to check these comments. I have a family of five so its a lot of ironing. We even have an upright steamer for clothes and curtains. All these posts have just helped me make up my mind. Thanks folks. No Mr. Steamy for me.I will most likely use the wrinkle release and save my money.

Anonymous said...

HarrietCarter.com sells them, and I searched on ebay where you can buy ONE. Shipping is expensive no matter where I looked. I also use the Downy Wrinkle free spray and I like it and the smell. SUNPINE Wrinkle Free Spray makes on sell at Family Dollar for $1.99 for a 16oz bottle and works just as well. I have used a wet wash cloth as well to take out wrinkles. I never thought to use the wrinkle free spray, wet wash cloth in the dryer for 10 mins. I'm going to give it a try. I HATE ironing. But, just think that it saves you $3.00 from taking pants into the dry cleaners to have them pressed!

I order the product never got the product so check my order it was mail but when to another location I called the company and they said they ship it so it was my problem. After 2 weeks I told them I was going to call my CC company and at that time they gave me credit.

SO Glad I read this! I saw that ad on tv and was so excited because I have to iron my pants and shirt daily for work...which im pretty sure everyone hates doin. Anyways, wasn't too sure about the validity of the product..looks like my inner voice was right. At least I did not spend the money! But the idea of it sounds amazing!

Just tested this morning on my husband's dress shirt and it came out just as wrinkled if not more than when it first went in the dryer, plus it had wet sports from the mr steamy. But the downy wrinkle releaser was only slightly better. There's no way my husband could wear that shirt as it came out in either instance.

Don't waste your money on mr steamy. Purchase a real garment steamer it's worth it's weight in gold!

Anonymous said...

Reading all of the above, i've come up with the conclusion that am better off using the regular dryer balls on the damp laundry "just washed" and maybe spray the dry shirts, dresses etc with some water before throwing them on the dryer again with the regular dryer balls! :)
Smart eh? :P

My wife says you can achieve the same effect by putting a damp towel in the dryer.

Anonymous said...

Finally, received my mr steamy and what a wonderful product. I placed wife in dryer with the fabulous mr steamy and POOF, away went all her wrinkles. Now I have a brand new, wrinkle free, fluffy, perky wife. Well worth the extra shipping.

Anonymous said...

Hey Anonymous, If that worked I would put myself in the dryer.

On another note this is what I do. I only dry my clothes for 15 to 20 min. that way they are not competely dry. I then hang them in my laundry room and let them dry. Viola! wrinkles are gone. If I forget them and they dry and are wrinkled I use a spray bottle w/water in it and spray them until just damp and hang them up.

For all the people saying that you can't make steam in a dryer OR the people saying that steam in a dryer is a contradiction .. don’t you people realize that IS what dryers actually do .. they create steam WHILE the heat is evaporating the liquid soaked into the clothes.

Liquid cannot evaporate until it has turned into steam. It doesn’t just magically disappear from the clothes; there is a process where the liquid molecules vaporize.

So trying to make people feel stupid for thinking a dryer cannot produce steam, just shows that you don’t know how a dryer actually works.

If you don’t know how something works, you shouldn’t try to make others feel stupid .. because it’s stupid to just assume you know what you are talking about before doing some research. :o)

Conventional dryers do not produce steam like a boiling pot, because the water is not a solid body of water like in a pot .. the dryer only gets to a certain temp (which is not high enough to boil a solid body of water, no), but the clothes inside the dryer do heat up and get "just" hot enough (and retain the heat) to make the water inside them evaporate .. which in return produces steam (steam is evaporating/vaporized water) .. but it won’t look like a steaming pot of water .. it’s not concentrated enough.

That being said, I don’t think the Mister Steamy could work very well, just like those dryer balls that came out before this came out didn’t.

Heavy wet clothes (or even dry clothes) wouldn’t allow the ball to “float” freely inside the dryer, unless you were only doing 1 shirt at a time, and even then .. because the dryer can’t get hot enough to boil the water inside the Mister Steamy (the water inside the Mister Steamy would be a solid body inside of the silicone ball) to produce steam.

If you don’t like to iron clothes or wash your clothes all the time, but just want to freshen (aka .. sanitize), or you just want to use steam to remove wrinkles .. then you should spend the extra $$ and purchase yourself a steam dryer.

http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/home/wash-and-dry-with-steam2.htm

Haven't we all learned by now that the junk we see as "only seen on tv" always turns out to be a load of crap?

I hope this helps someone :o).

This is totally a scam. I ordered the product from their website but missed reading the fine print that they would charge me TWICE for shipping and handling. I placed the order on Sunday, a non business day, and realized after being charged shipping and handling twice that I wanted to CANCEL it. So, I thought I would call on Monday (the next day) and cancel it, since their customer service department was closed on Sunday. Well I just called today, Monday, and asked them to cancel it. They said the order was already shipped (which sounds unreal, how can they ship it in a matter of hours) and that they could not cancel it, and I was free to return it. That means that I will have to pay for my own shipping to return it, which is fine, but that they will not refund me the cost of the shipping and handling they charged me twice. This is UNFAIR. I was NEVER given a chance to cancel my order. This is totally a scam. And I am unhappy about it.

Dont' waste your money on Mister Steamy. The foam ball inside falls apart inside the plastic within the first 10 washes and there is NO replacement...of course. And besides, my dress shirts weren't any less wrinkled than they were when using a fabric sheet... which is the ONLY REASON I purchased this in the first place. The concept of the product is good, but it fails to live up to the expectations. Mister Steamy is a RIP OFF!

Anonymous said...

Never order directly from these ads seen on TV. They kill you in shipping charges. And as "guaranteed money back" first, you have to call them to get an approval number and they won't return shipping charges. So you end up paying to ship it back to them. Go to the "As seen on TV" website and get these products or any Walgreens. I have actually seen Walmart sell many of those TV products also.

Anonymous said...

Why is the double shipping a suprise? It's clearly stated at the bottom of the official website & is stated on the commercial, plus this is just normal these days (STUPID ripoff but normal). Anyway, excellent point about the 212 degree steam - simply not going to happen. Like many others here, I've been lightly spraying clothes & throwing them in the dryer for years...works like a charm. Then again, so does an iron! If you really want ONE of these, save yourself THIRTY FOUR DOLLARS and wait till they come out in the stores like allll the other "ASOTV" items - then you can you pick up one for like ten bucks & it won't hurt so much if it does suck!

Anonymous said...

I'm not wasting money on this thing. The shipping is ridiculous. the trick is not to leave the clothes in the dryer too long after drying. This sets the wrinkles. For t-shirts, I put them into the dryer for 5-8 min then hang on hangers. No wrinkles. If you want to freshen something, spray it with Fabreeze, and then into the dryer for a few mintutes. You can also buy a spray bottle, fill it with water, and spray the clothes. Hang to dry and the wrinkles should fall out.

Anonymous said...

All these do is create a LOT of noise in the dryer.....and you still have the wrinkles.

I found a two-pack of Mr. Steamy at Bed, Bath & Beyond for only $14.99. We like it, seems to work fine. But the filler material inside shrinks after many uses and eventually shreds apart. Would be nice if they sold replacement filler balls instead of having to buy more of the hard rubber balls. Would be even more "eco friendly" than it already is.

Anonymous said...

I bought one tonight at Walgreen's. There are 2 balls in the package. $14.99...so if you just have to have one...buy it when it comes to a store near you. NO need to buy from the TV commercial. Their shipping is what always turns out to be a nightmare.

I am not convinced after using it...that it does anything other than make your clothes a little softer.

Anonymous said...

Scientifically speaking, adding water to your clothing does not (and cannot) decrease drying time. Think about it, more water = more heat required to dry. If you'd like to get the same effect, just skip the spin cycle, take out an extra wet shirt or towel, and save on energy.

I bought Mister Steamy at Bed, Bath & Beyond two weeks ago and I think it does what it promised. I don't know anything about Fresh Shots, but I hate when I don't take my clothes out of the dryer as soon as it's dry. Happens all the time. I've been using Mister Steamy for this reason. It helps a lot!

I always buy the "no Iron" shirts and dockers, and pay extra for them because I just don't have the time. I have to look presentable at work, but not starched shirt perfect, or I would just dry clean $$$. Still, when I'm tired and fall asleep before emptying the dryer, my "no iron" clothes are wrinkled. So I use Mr. Misty with the dryer on high for 15 min. and that takes care of most of the wrinkles. But when I was running low on Fresh Shot, I could not find it anywhere on the Internet without buying more balls, and I already have a spare ball that I don't need. So I have been trying regular liquid fabric softener with water. It's not nearly as good as Fresh Shot, stinks of perfume and leaves a sticky mess wherever it spills when pouring it into the ball. Thanks to everyone for suggesting Downy Wrinkle Free -- I'll try that next.

Anonymous said...

I purchased it from Walmart. They have a whole section dedicated to "As Seen on TV" products. The promises were too tempting to ignore. :) I actually like it and yes my clothes are softer and fluffier. I have not used a dryer sheet either. I am not sure how much it will cost to replace the material inside of the dryer ball. I have not crossed that bridge yet. I would recommend it.

Anonymous said...

I've been curious about Mr. Steamy also because I have to iron my husband's uniforms every week, and I hate ironing!! I've found that if you spray starch on your clothes and throw them in the dryer for a few minutes it will remove most of the wrinkles.

Anonymous said...

This Mister Steamy is a silly device. It can't generate steam because the dryer temperature never exceeds 175F. It works just as well if you don't add water.

Anonymous said...

I don't see how it doesn't damage your dryer. It sounds like a pair of tennis shoes bouncing around in there. I got mine at Big Lots and have not really noticed any difference in my clothes and I've done 3 loads of laundry.

Anonymous said...

Think about it people. In order for water to steam, it has to come to a boil. How can a rubber ball full of water come to a boil in your dryer.

Anonymous said...

Wow, when will people ever realize that these forums are created by/for people who don't like these products in the first place. Doesn't make a difference after I wash my clothes and put them in the dryer? That's totally not what it's for. It's for when you just barely wore your clothes and want to wear them again without washing. It's for the load that you left in the dryer for 3 days and don't want to use the energy/money/detergent to re-wash them. The double shipping charge is something that happens with EVERY free offer. When have you ever ordered anything free and they DON'T charge you shipping? That's why the commercials say "Get a second set free! Just pay shipping and handling charges." Listen to what the commercials say people! If you're unimpressed, it's because you're paying for a $20 plastic ball that you can put in to freshen your clothes. It's not like you're paying 6 (wait! now only 5) payments of 29.99. It's not a very expensive thing. And if you add it up, you spend more on an iron/board/energy to use it/clothes you ruin with it, etc. If you're a skeptic about everything, you probably won't like it. But I'll tell you what. It IS convenient, and it didn't cost much. And I love not having to re-wash clothes now because I've got Mr. Steamy.

Cindy said...

I just received my "Mister Steamy" and tried it this morning. Don't waste your money. First, it kept popping the dryer door open which shuts the dryer off. I put three mens shirts which were washed and came out of the dryer slightly wrinkled, you know how those 'No iron" shirts are? Well, I put Mister Steamy in and hoped I would see a difference. What I got was more wrinkles! You have to use HIGH heat and run the whole cycle. Hard to do if you have a delicate fabric you don't want to shrink or ruin.

I wish there was a guarantee on this product because I would pay the postage, probably more than what I paid for the two balls, and send it back! I think it will become a chew toy for the dog as he was very interested in them.

Anonymous said...

Stay away from this product. If you want a very loud banging noise coming from your dryer then be my quest. They don't tell you that you have to add a lot of items to quiet the LOUD bagging noise if you want to use 1 or 2 items to get the wrinkles out. Just use a wet clean rag that is quiet instead of throwing this Rock into your dryer.

Anonymous said...

I purchased this product at my local grocery store (no spritz included, wouldn't that be for scent purposes only since you fill them with liquid anyway?)and they work alright, better for a few items you want to de-wrinkle. It's been about a month and the absorbant balls are now torn apart and super shriveled. I've used the "damp towel" trick since college and that is still my go-to for best outcome. Hope this helps!

My clothes came out with more wrinkles than when they went in, and running the dryer at the highest setting shrunk them! Don't waste your money (or gas/electric). How does this thing save any energy?

Anonymous said...

I have one of these and it is fantastic. Yes it is loud like drying tennis shoes but the results are great. Secondly, I don't have to dry the close on the normal setting. I put everything on delicate and it all dries fine. That is the true energy and time saver for me. Only complaint is the ball deteriorated over about 3 months. I just shoved a sponge in and presto just like new. I bought mine at one of those pharmacy's with a AS SEEN ON TY DISPLAY, so no internet problems. As for the comment above it is required only to run the with Mr. Steamy 1 time, not before every drying.

I discovered this product on PBS's Everyday Edisons program and so started looking for it's website. The show takes peoples ideas for products they think are good ideas and marketable, test, tweak then package the ones they select which led me to believe it was a good product so I went looking for it online but found this site instead. I'm thinking I'm glad I did because of all you brave souls who did purchase and have critiqued the product making me think the recommendations of a damp towel in with my shirts etc is a better solution. The tenet that everything you see on tv is not necessarily true fits this scenario even if it is PBS!

Anonymous said...

There is no way your dryer will get the water in mister steamy to 212 degree's therefore it will never become steam.

Using it right now, got it at dollar store for $15 for two balls. Too noisy sometimes. (I live in apt)

I found the YouTube 'commercial' these two guys made to be somewhat creepy! It doesn't do them any favors and makes them look like modern day snake oil sellers! I couldn't get past that and if I couldn't get past that, I'm not going to buy the product. My grandma always threw a damp item in with the dry clothing anyway, which is what I do as well, and that works just as well IMO. No need to spend one cent.

I tried em cuz it sounded like a good idea. My hubby hates the dryer sheets. Well, fine for about a month, then I start noticing white fuzzies (like from your socks) all over the house. We wear white socks so I didn't think much of it, til next laundry day. When this white fuzzy thing fell outa a Mr Steamy. One Mr Steamy had a large piece inside, but the other had barely anything. Just this little piece that fell out.
I IMMEDIATELY QUIT USING EM AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS. What a mess I had, now, no more fuzzies. Can't find a place to complain.

Way too noisy for me. I don't care how well it works. The noise alone is enough for me to return it. I don't want to hear a racket that sounds like my dryer is being pummeled and dented every time I dry a load of clothes.

I purchased my MisterSteamy at Bed Bath & Beyond. It came in a two pack box for $14.99. It's HARD plastic! Why such hard material for a dryer? My dryer can be heard "clanging" OUTSIDE our unit 20 feet away! I have always used a spray bottle with 8 oz water and mix in 2 TBS softener, then spray on wrinkled clothing and toss in dryer for 15 minutes. I'm thinking I'm going to return this.

I bought two Mr. Steamy balls today. I saw them at Wal-Mart for $9.95, passed them up, but then saw them again at Pick n Save for $14.98 and finally succumbed. I bought them mainly because it said the clothes will dry faster in the dryer --I figured the balls would fluff the clothes so more air can get between them and dry faster? I haven't used them yet --do you use just one or both? As I eventually found my way here, you can see I was also skeptical even though I bought them. I figure all the tips here on how to make your own wrinkle release or the products that work such as Downy and the Dollar Store kind will actually return my purchase price in savings so thanks everyone. I'm a BIG sucker for "gadgets" though, lol. Now that I think about it, your dryer has a sensor that can tell when the clothes are dry and stops.. wouldn't adding water to the Mr. Steamy ball just make the dryer run longer? This unfortunately was an impulse buy.

There was a cashier at Walmart that told me that she loved Mr. Steamy. I bought one because I knew she wasn't working on comission. I tried it for 5 minutes and it was so noisy that I thought I was going to disturb my downstairs neighbor so I took it out immediately. Afraid to use it again. Also, please refrain from calling people who are not as familiar with science as you "stupid" and from using words like "duh". It's really annoying. I'm sorry that I never had enough time to study steam as you had.

I got the product at Bed, Bath & Beyond and have been using it for a couple of months and love it. It has saved me money because I bought it mainly to eliminate those nasty, non-environmentally friendly drier sheets. I have had great success with it eliminating the static cling - the other reason I wanted to try it. I don't use anything but water. I wouldn't buy it online because I think you can find it easily at stores. I do still iron things that need it but that is not why I dot it.

I LOVE YOUR BALLS, MISTER STEAMY!!!! YOU ARE MY HERO!!! MY ONE TRUE LOVE!!!! This product is absolutely amazing!!! It does all it promises to do and more! Everyone should own a pair of Mister Steamy's balls. If you don't own his balls then go to the store and grab them!!! I love them!!!! This is probably the best invention in the whole wild world. I bet the person who invented his balls is a multi-billionaire, no wait, a trillionaire. I want to meet them and have them sign my balls. Their balls are my idol. I get goosebumps even thinking about touching them. You have to be really smart to think of this. I personally don't think they charge enough money for this product. His balls are worth so much more than $20! I would pay up to $500 just for just one of Mister Steamy's balls. I love them so much!!! I cleared the shelf and bought 82 of them just at bed, bath and beyond. I'm starting a collection of
Mister Steamy’s balls. I want to beat the world record for anyone owning the most of Mister Steamy's wonderful balls. I just sold my car so I could buy more balls. My house is full of them. I sleep with Mister Steamy's balls by my head all night long. My goal is to own a million of them. If you don't know if you would like them or not and your not sure, just go to the store. I'm sure Mister Steamy would have no problem at all letting you grab and test out his balls. I promise you that you'll probably be all over his balls in just a second. I’m even jealous of the delivery man who gets to handle Mister Steamy’s package. The reason why they charge you double for shipping and handling is because Mister Steamy has a very big package and his balls are very delicate. They have to take extra good care of them. You wouldn’t want his balls to drop, would you? And remember that in really hot weather Mister Steamy gets sweaty balls. So don’t forget to wash his balls regularly. Thank you, Mister Steamy, for letting me have a chance to have so much fun with your balls. I’ll never forget the first day that I got to hold your package. I’ll cherish these balls forever!! From,

Mister Steamy’s biggest fan!!!

P.S. My only complaint about Mister Steamy’s balls is that they are green. I wish they gave Mister Steamy blue balls.

Bought at bed bath and beyond. Its very loud in a SS dryer with just a dry shirt to unwrinkle. Even when adding towel still loud. And it worked no better than adding a damp towel. Will return.

Using for the first time... and probably the last! Even if it works, the noise it makes is rediculously loud. Back to the store it goes! I'll stick w/the dryer sheets - they're so much quieter. And, as one previous post mentions, a damp wash cloth works just as well!

I love Mr. Steamy! Bought a 2-pack at Walmart for about $10. Gave one to my mom. She and Dad love it, too! Today, Mr. Steamy's sponge finally fell apart, but I've used it much longer than the recommended 4 months. I will definitely be buying another right away. Terrific product.

We had a horrible static problem in our household. I had tried every single brand of drier sheets and my clothes were still full of static. I posted my complaint and asked for suggestions on my Facebook wall. Someone mentioned Mr. Steamy. I didn't see them in any stores until I went to a Big Lots and saw them in the clearance section. Bought a box and tried them. I am really and officially a complete and utter fan. Static is almost completely gone - only a few sweaters had a little after drying, but the vast majority had none at all. Ours didn't come with the Fresh Shot, so I don't know what that does, but plain old water works just fine. Because our dog has severe epilepsy, we have eliminated all chemicals from our household any way, so being able to get rid of the smell drier sheets leave in clothes is an added bonus. I will never buy another drier sheet again and when these get old, I will search high and low to buy more. Great product!
